Hi there! I’m Rebekah, the creator and founder of Sanara. Sanara comes from the Spanish word, sanará, which means you will heal. Sanara restores more than your skin, through our mind + body care rituals powered by indigenous Latin American botanicals. I created Sanara in my kitchen after having lived with Psoriasis since my teens. However, Sanara has evolved, from crafting holistic skincare remedies to becoming a conduit to reconnecting with my mind, body, and spirit as I had realized that psoriasis had scarred more than just my skin, it left its marks on my mind and body. As I began crafting my own holistic body care, I encountered a glaring absence, representation of my Latin culture, its efficacious botanicals, and its rich traditional knowledge. Knowledge and practices that are passed down from generation to generation and advocates that true wellness is impossible unless every aspect of a person can be healed, mind, body, and spirit. I feel honored that my ancestors chose me to be the beholder and creator of Sanara, to share a new definition of beauty, shifting away from aesthetic perfection to holistic wellbeing. As I began creating Sanara in 2017 and practicing my own body care rituals, I never would have imagined that just 4 short years later, my monthly breast care rituals would ultimately save my life. At the age of 39, with no family history, I was diagnosed with breast cancer, not just once, but twice, in 2021 and 2022. This deeply personal experience underscored the importance for me to share the power of body awareness, intuition, and advocating for one's health, and as Sanara continues to grow, I promise to create products that support healing and celebrate the body, no matter a person's journey in life. Despite a few bumps in the road, I’m proud to share that Sanara’s products are being used at Four Seasons, Omni, and Auberge resorts for their body care treatments. I look forward to continuing to share Sanara and grow in the spa, beauty, and wellness markets.
